Name :  Shirley Masemola

Topic  : “Treating Trauma in the South African context”

Shirley Masemola, is a Registered Counsellor, registered with HPCSA and BHF running a private practice. She received her honours in Psychology specialising in trauma in 2010 with Midrand Graduate Institute now know as Persons Institute. She has been awarded a certificate for completing the Sixteen Personality Factor test(16PF) training. She is also a qualified fatigue management specialist. She has been working in the employee wellness industry with different roles and responsibilities, as a managerial consultant, Executive health and care consultant, and case manager. She is currently working for PHS as a Client relations and case manager.

As a consultant in the Employee Health and Wellness industry, she has gained valuable industry knowledge and insights which have developed her into a well-rounded practitioner. She has facilitated workshops and trainings on different topics ranging from stress management, stress and resilience in the work place, substance abuse and mental health to name a few. She has facilitated trauma debriefing sessions and workshops for different client companies.

Name : Dr Fundile Nyati

Dr Fundile Nyati is a Healthcare Entrepreneur who 19 years ago co-founded Proactive Health Solutions (Pty) Ltd {PHS}, a leading ‘One-Stop-Shop’ Employee Health and Wellness service provider in South Africa. He is a qualified Specialist Family Physician who obtained both his Undergraduate medical degree (MBChB), and Post Graduate medical degree (Master of Family Medicine) from the University of Natal Medical School, now known as University of KwaZulu-Natal, Nelson Mandela School of Medicine. He is also a qualified business leader and manager who obtained an Advanced Management Programme in Healthcare certificate qualification from the University of Manchester, Business School. The customised and integrated health and wellness solutions that his company offers include all four of the established pillars of employee health and wellness namely: • Sick Absenteeism, Incapacity and Disability Solutions; • Occupational Health Solutions; • Disease Management Solutions; and • Employee Assistance Programme solutions. During the last 18 years as a business leader within the Employee Health and Wellness industry, he has gained valuable industry knowledge and insights which have developed him into a well-rounded EHW niche industry thought leader. He is a much sought-after speaker who has presented to various national healthcare conferences, as well as facilitating many industry symposiums and workshops. Name :  Vusi Menzelwa

Topic  :  “Personal financial freedom”

A Fort-Beaufort born professional, accounting and business management graduate, he served his articles with an audit firm to become a qualified accountant. However, at the end of the articles contract, he found himself taking a different route of corporate financial management career, which he started at Eskom in the mid-90’s.

His journey of acquiring as much knowledge as possible about how one could achieve FINANCIAL FREEDOM, led him to over 100 books, both hard copy and digital, as well as over 50 audio-visual recordings on this subject. He also attended dozens of seminars and training workshops on the subject. The books, audio-visual recordings, seminars and workshops changed how he looked at life in general, and in particular, how he understood Financial Freedom.

Name : Anel Cornelius

Anel is an occupational therapist providing services in the Eastern Cape.  She went to Grens High School and later graduated and worked on her passion of occupational therapy.  Anel is bilingual and has experience in vocational rehabilitation, case management, early intervention, paediatrics, medio-legal work as well as incapacity management.

  • The EAP Association is the largest, oldest and most professional association for persons in the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) field. EAPA represents more than 5 000 individuals and Organizations with an interest in employee assistance in 107 Chapters around the globe. EAPA-SA was established as a Branch of EAPA International in 1997 to provide strategic direction, professional development and ethics of the EA professionals to uphold the professional image of both the association and profession in South Africa.  Therefore, EAPA-SA is an approved affiliate of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, Inc. (EAPA).
  • The EAPA-SA has eight (8) active local Chapters which provide EA professionals with decentralized capacity building workshops on current and new developments within the EAP field and best practices.
