The EAPA Western Cape Chapter proudly hosted its highly anticipated Member and Stakeholder Engagement Event on Friday, 27 June 2025. Held under the theme “Wellbeing, Inclusion & Recognition – Empowering Workplaces That Care,” the event brought together EAP professionals, partners, and stakeholders in a vibrant
gathering dedicated to knowledge-sharing, wellness, and professional appreciation.
The morning began with a warm welcome from Chapter Chairperson, Ms Rozelda Elliott, followed by a heartfelt message from host Ms Joycelyn Esterhuizen. These opening remarks set the tone for a day grounded in collaboration, growth, and commitment to employee wellness.
The programme featured two powerful keynote presentations:
- “Managing Disability in the Workplace” by Waseema Herabai (DOH) addressed practical and policy-driven approaches to inclusive employment practices.
- Lyra Health led an enlightening session on “Ages and Phases of Menopause and Their Impact on Workplace Productivity,” encouraging more supportive and open conversations around women’s health at work.
A highlight of the day was the official launch of the EAPA-SA Western Cape Recognition Awards Programme, presented by Michelle Buis and Blanche Claassens-Hoskins. This initiative will honour outstanding contributions and leadership in the employee assistance field. Adding a refreshing wellness component, Virgin Active delivered an energising activation session before the formal close. The event concluded with words of appreciation from Mr Patrick Eagan, followed by networking and lunch.
The Chapter was especially grateful to have members join both in-person and online, reflecting the inclusive and accessible nature of the event. The energy in the room-and across the digital space-was a clear reminder of the strength, dedication, and heart within the EAPA community. A heartfelt thank you to all who participated and supported this successful event. Together, we continue to create workplaces where wellbeing is not just a goal-but a shared responsibility.
