In line with our constitution, a new board has to be voted in. Voting will take place at the AGM, which is scheduled for Wednesday 16th September 2026.

Brief Educational Background and Work Experience

Dr Sanoosha Badul holds a Doctor of Administration from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2019), where her research focused on Employee Wellness as a strategy for enhancing performance in the KwaZulu-Natal Administration. She also holds a Master of Philosophy in HIV/AIDS Management (University of Stellenbosch), a Postgraduate Diploma in Management of HIV and AIDS (University of Stellenbosch), a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (University of KwaZulu-Natal), and a BA degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She also completed Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS Response (NQF Level 8) through Wits Business School.

Dr Badul has over 26 years of experience in Employee Health and Wellness. Her career began as a Human Resource Practitioner and has progressed to her current role as Deputy Director: Provincial Employee Health and Wellness at the KwaZulu-Natal Office of the Premier. Her work focuses on strategic programme development, policy alignment, governance integration, and stakeholder engagement across government structures. She has also been involved in strengthening practitioner capacity and mentoring Employee Health and Wellness practitioners across the province.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Dr Badul has been involved in the EAP field since 1999 and has contributed extensively to the development and refinement of national and provincial Employee Health and Wellness policies and frameworks within the public service.

She has actively participated in EAPA-SA Chapter activities, including delivering CPD-accredited presentations and contributing to Eduweek initiatives. She has also published academic work and presented research papers at both local and international platforms.

She is currently driving the Professionalisation of Employee Health and Wellness Project with the National School of Government, aimed at strengthening the development and recognition of the profession within the public service.

Motivation to Serve on the EAPA-SA Board and Value Contribution

Dr Badul is motivated to serve on the EAPA-SA Board because of her strong commitment to advancing the professionalisation, ethical standards, and strategic impact of Employee Health and Wellness in South Africa.

She brings strategic leadership, governance insight, and extensive programme development experience. Her strengths include policy development, stakeholder engagement, programme design, and legislative compliance. Her academic background supports research-informed decision-making and the strengthening of professional standards within the field.

She is passionate about contributing to the growth, credibility, and sustainability of the profession and ensuring that Employee Health and Wellness services remain ethical, evidence-based, and aligned with international best practice.

Brief Educational Background and Work Experience

Millicent Nonkosinathi Banda is a qualified Social Worker who obtained her degree from the University of the Western Cape in 2007.

She holds professional certifications in Introduction to EAP, Trauma Incident Reduction, Policy Development, Ethics in Public Service, Integrated Human Resource Management, and Occupational Health and Safety.

She has over 18 years of experience in the public service. She began her career as a Senior HR Officer in the Department of Environmental Affairs from 2007 to 2010. From 2010 to 2018, she served as Assistant Director: Transformation and Employee Wellness. Since April 2018, she has served as Assistant Director: Employee Wellness at the Eastern Cape Department of Human Settlements.

Her expertise includes Employee Health and Wellness programme implementation, disability management, occupational health and safety integration, policy development, and strategic programme oversight within government.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Her involvement in the EAP field began in 2007 within the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. During this time, she focused on promoting physical wellness initiatives for employees and led the development of a workplace gym facility that was successfully implemented in 2012.

Throughout her career she has strengthened Employee Health and Wellness and Disability Management programmes aligned to the EHW Strategic Framework. Her responsibilities have included managing service providers across all wellness pillars to ensure quality services, compliance, and measurable programme impact.

She also served on the DPSA National Batho Pele Forum from 2010 to 2018, engaging on matters affecting wellness practitioners in government and advocating for improved implementation standards and practitioner knowledge. She has also served in stakeholder engagement roles within the EAPA-SA Ikhala Chapter.

Motivation to Serve on the EAPA-SA Board and Value Contribution

If elected to the EAPA-SA Board, she is committed to strengthening governance, strategic alignment, and professional credibility within the EAP field.

She brings strong networking abilities and collaboration with service providers and academic institutions to support membership growth and professional development initiatives. Her public sector experience provides insight into policy implementation, practitioner development needs, and governance requirements.

Her experience positions her to contribute to strengthening collaboration between EAPA-SA and government stakeholders while supporting the growth and sustainability of the profession.

Bridgette Cain-Noveve holds a Master’s Degree in Social Development and Planning, a BA Honours in Social Work, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management. She has also completed additional qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Monitoring and Evaluation, and leadership development.

She currently serves as Deputy Director: Employee Wellness Programme at the Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury, where she provides EAP advisory and facilitation services to sister departments across the province.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Bridgette is a registered Employee Wellness Specialist and a current National Board Member of EAPA-SA. She holds the Eduweek and Events Management Portfolio and brings more than a decade of leadership experience within the association.

She joined the EAPA-SA Ikhala Chapter in 2010 and has served in several executive portfolios. She was Chapter Chairperson from 2015 to 2018, where she strengthened governance, strategy, and member engagement.

Her professional contributions have been recognised through several awards, including EAP Specialist of the Year 2024 and multiple Service Excellence Awards.

Motivation to Serve on the EAPA-SA Board and Value Contribution

She is motivated to serve on the Board to help position EAP as a strategic partner in organisational sustainability rather than a peripheral support service.

Her experience in governance, leadership, and programme development allows her to contribute to strengthening professional standards, ethical practice, and the strategic positioning of EAP services across both public and private sectors.

Brief Educational Background and Work Experience

Thiloshni Govender is a Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work specialising in Employee Assistance Programmes, awarded in 2010.

She began her career in 1992, working for Child Welfare and SANCA Alcohol and Drug Centre, where she provided EAP services to Eastern Cape companies.

In 2000 she joined the Department of Correctional Services as a full-time EAP Professional. In 2004 she joined the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture as Deputy Director: Employee Wellness, where she established a comprehensive Employee Wellness Programme including EAP, Occupational Health and Safety, and HIV workplace programmes.

In 2008 she joined the Eastern Cape Department of Health as Director: Employee Wellness, supporting a workforce of nearly 50,000 employees.

Involvement in the EAP Field

She has been a member of EAPA-SA since 2000 and is a founding member of the EAPA-SA Ikhala Chapter.

Since 2005 she has served on the EAPA-SA Board in various portfolios and committees and served as President of EAPA-SA from 2018 to 2023.

She has contributed extensively to Eduweek, EAP Standards Review, Professional Designations, Membership initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities.

She brings passion for the EAP profession and more than 20 years of Board-level leadership experience.

She believes that a healthy Board balances the wisdom of experience with fresh ideas and innovation and would like to continue supporting the profession as it evolves.

Thomani Gomba is a qualified Social Worker with extensive experience in Employee Health and Wellness within the public service. Over the course of his career, he has worked in the design, implementation and coordination of employee wellness programmes, supporting employees through counselling services, organisational wellness initiatives and policy implementation aimed at promoting healthy and productive workplaces.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Thomani has been actively involved in the Employee Assistance Programme field through his work in employee wellness within government. His role includes supporting employees through counselling and referral services, coordinating wellness interventions, and contributing to programmes that address psychosocial challenges in the workplace. He has also been actively involved with the EAPA-SA Board, contributing to the growth and strengthening of the profession.

Brief Educational Background and Work Experience

Ndumiso Hlongwa holds a BTech in Public Management from Durban University of Technology, an Executive Development Certificate from the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), and a BP Admin Honours degree from Mancosa.

He has more than 20 years of experience in Employee Assistance Programme leadership and management within the NGO and public sectors. His career includes leading wellness systems and providing employee health and wellness services within government departments.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Ndumiso’s leadership involvement in the EAP field dates back to 2005 when he contributed to establishing wellness systems and leading health and wellness services for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism.

He served on the EAPA-SA KwaZulu-Natal Chapter Executive Committee before being elected Deputy Chairperson in 2019 and later Chairperson from 2023 to 2026. During his leadership the Chapter experienced significant membership growth and strengthened professional engagement.

He currently contributes to the EAPA-SA Board through participation in the Governance and Finance portfolios.

Ndumiso believes strongly in the power of Employee Assistance to restore dignity, rebuild hope, and strengthen the wellbeing of employees facing personal and workplace challenges.

He brings leadership experience, strategic insight, and a commitment to ethical, accessible and culturally relevant EAP services. His focus is on strengthening professional development, supporting practitioner growth, and ensuring EAP services remain impactful and relevant within South African workplaces.

Dibuseng Khunwane holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has worked in the public service for 18 years within the field of Employee Health and Wellness. Her experience includes programme design, stakeholder management, policy development, and governance oversight, with a strong focus on accountability, risk identification, mitigation, and strategic alignment.

Dibuseng has been an active Executive Committee member of the Jacaranda Chapter and is a founding member of the Platinum Chapter. She currently serves as Chairperson of the EAPA-SA Platinum Chapter.

Gilbert Senior Kwaeng holds a Bachelor of Social Work from North-West University, a Certificate in Employee Assistance Programmes (CEAP) from the University of Pretoria, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management with Human Resource Management from North-West University Business School, and a Bachelor of Public Administration from MANCOSA. He is currently in the final year of his Master of Business Administration at North-West University Business School.

He is professionally registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions. Gilbert currently serves as Assistant Director: Employee Health and Wellness at the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development in the North West Province. He previously served as Senior Employee Health and Wellness Practitioner at the Department of Social Development and as an Employee Health and Wellness Practitioner at the Department of Health.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Gilbert has more than 12 years of dedicated experience in the Employee Health and Wellness field, with a strong specialisation in Employee Assistance Programmes. His experience includes counselling, crisis intervention, trauma debriefing, conflict management, needs analysis, policy development, operational planning, and the management of provincial wellness programmes serving over 500 employees.

He also played an important role in founding the Platinum Chapter in the North West Province from the Jacaranda Chapter in Pretoria.

Gilbert is passionate about advancing the EAP profession in South Africa and believes Board service will allow him to contribute to the strategic development and standardisation of EAP practices nationally. He brings strategic leadership, public sector expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and strong business acumen. He is committed to professional excellence, continuous development, and strengthening the accessibility and impact of EAP services across South Africa.

Brief Educational Background and Work Experience

Ayesha Malagas is a registered Social Worker with 29 years of experience across the NGO, public, and private sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work from the University of Cape Town, a Higher Certificate in Management awarded cum laude, and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Occupational Social Work at Wits University.

She has lectured at the University of Pretoria Enterprises and SACAP and has also run a successful private practice, Stars Wellness. She currently serves as Consultant: Employee Wellness at the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA), where she manages the employee wellness portfolio.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Ayesha specialises in EAP and Employee Wellness Programmes, trauma debriefing, training, and policy development. She served as Chairperson of the EAPA-SA Jacaranda Chapter from 2024 to 2026 and recently took over the Membership portfolio.

She has also played a mentorship role for social workers and contributed to the broader development of the EAP profession.

Vuyisile Nkomombini holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Nelson Mandela University and has completed further professional development in Professional Ethics for Healthcare Practitioners through Walter Sisulu University, First Aid through St John’s, Human Trafficking through the International Organization for Migration, the Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-Entry Programme, and Ethics in the Public Service.

He currently serves as Assistant Director: Employee Health and Wellness at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in the Eastern Cape.

Involvement in the EAP Field

In his current role, Vuyisile leads the coordination, management, monitoring, and evaluation of Employee Health and Wellness and Employee Assistance Programmes in alignment with institutional strategies and national frameworks. His responsibilities include policy and SOP development, critical incident stress debriefing, psychosocial interventions, occupational health and safety initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and reporting to oversight structures. He has also been actively involved with the EAPA-SA Board, contributing to the advancement of the profession.

He also has private sector EAP experience as an Occupational Social Worker with ICAS Onsite Clinic Affiliate and Healthi Choices Wellness Programmes, where he provided solution-focused counselling, developed care plans, and supported organisations in managing psychosocial risks and absenteeism.

Vuyisile is committed to bringing strategic leadership, strong governance capability, and operational experience in implementing EAP and EHW programmes. He aims to support membership growth, strengthen partnerships, and enhance the visibility, credibility, and national impact of EAPA-SA. Thobisile Precious Nwuno holds an Honours Degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of South Africa, a Bachelor of Commerce in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, and a Diploma in Human Resources Management. She also completed a short course in Employee Assistance Programmes at the University of Pretoria and a Mental Health certificate through Alison.

She currently serves as Remuneration and Wellness Consultant at SBV Services, where she advises on remuneration and wellness programmes, guides management on complaints, conducts job analysis and evaluations, drives HR automation, and implements group wellness strategy. She previously served at the Auditor-General South Africa as Employee Health, Wellness and Safety Consultant, Employee Wellness Programme Coordinator, and Senior Administrator.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Thobisile completed formal EAP training through the University of Pretoria in 2016 and is a member of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association of South Africa. She applies EAP principles in workplace wellness initiatives with a focus on mental health, emotional intelligence, and work-life balance.

She currently serves as Chairperson-Elect for the EAPA-SA Egoli Chapter, supporting the current Chairperson.

Thobisile wants to contribute to the EAPA-SA Board to help advance professional standards and improve access to EAP services in South Africa. Premaloshni Naidoo holds an Honours Degree in Psychology from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and specialised in Trauma studies through UNISA. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Psychology through UNISA.

She previously ran a private practice in East London specialising in trauma counselling, psychological screening, critical incident stress debriefing, wellness days, and workplace training.

She currently serves as National Employee Wellness Manager at PRASA after progressing through roles as Employee Wellness Professional in both the Eastern Cape and Western Cape.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Premaloshni has been actively involved in the EAP field since 2012 and has served as an Executive Chapter Member within EAPA-SA from 2012 to 2025.

She contributed to the relaunch of the Ikhala Chapter in East London and served as Chapter Secretary, Education Portfolio holder, and later Chairperson of the Western Cape Chapter. She also supported national membership and stakeholder portfolios.

Her involvement includes coordinating CPD sessions, supporting practitioner development initiatives, and organising professional development events.

Premaloshni is passionate about advancing employee wellness and supporting professionals in the psychology and EAP fields.

She brings experience in trauma counselling, professional training, and wellness programme development. Her goal is to contribute to strengthening practitioner knowledge, expanding professional development opportunities, and supporting the growth of the EAP profession.

Nevania Naidoo holds a Master of Social Science in Employee Assistance Programmes from the University of Pretoria, a BA and Honours in Psychology from the University of Johannesburg, and advanced training in Human Resource Management through UNISA.

She is a Registered Counsellor with the HPCSA and holds the EAPA-SA Employee Assistance Specialist designation.

She has more than 20 years of experience in the wellness and EAP sector and currently serves as Director at Strategic Wellness Solutions. She previously served as Director: Wellness at Workforce Healthcare.

Involvement in the EAP Field

Nevania currently serves as an EAPA-SA Board Member leading the Education and Research Portfolio. She also contributes to Finance, Governance, Membership, Stakeholder and Digitisation task teams.

Her contributions include initiating alignment of the EAPA-SA Board Examination with the international CEAP examination, launching a national benchmarking research project, expanding CPD opportunities, and strengthening Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) systems.

She has also engaged with HPCSA and SACSSP on CPD and professional development alignment and has served as Egoli Chapter Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
