EAPA-SA Eduweek is dedicated to fostering an environment that champions innovative solutions addressing current challenges. We seek presentations that ignite inventive thinking and test novel ideas. Our goal is to explore creative strategies that enhance marketing, delivery, organisation, evaluation, and overall improvement of Employee Assistance (EA) and wellness services. By contributing to this vision, speakers play a crucial role in shaping the future of our field, offering fresh perspectives and valuable insights to enrich our professional community.

Presentation Formats at EduWeek:

EduWeek offers a variety of presentation formats to suit different styles and objectives, encouraging the exchange of innovative ideas and research findings. Here’s a breakdown of the types of presentations you can apply for:

1. Plenary sessions:

Scheduled for Days 2, 3, and 4, plenary sessions are a cornerstone of EduWeek, typically lasting 45 minutes. We suggest a structure of a 30-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A segment. Panel discussions are also integral to these sessions. In cases where multiple applications share a common theme, speakers may be invited to collaborate, sharing the stage to enrich the discussion. Additional time will be allocated as needed to accommodate this format.

2. Research Poster Presentations:

EAPA-SA places a high value on research and encourages the submission of research presentations for this year’s EduWeek. Allocated a total of 15 minutes, presenters should aim to share their findings in 7-10 minutes, leaving the remainder of the time for audience questions. An A1 poster for display in the exhibition area will complement your spoken presentation, allowing for visual engagement with your research.

3. Master Class Workshops:

Designed to be interactive and immersive, these workshops offer participants the opportunity for deeper engagement with the material through introspection, practical exercises, and teamwork. Facilitated by the presenter, these sessions are scheduled on the first day of EduWeek and typically last 2 hours. Presenters are encouraged to incorporate interactive elements to engage the audience fully, fostering an environment of active learning and collaboration.

Sessions may be delivered by 1 (ONE) presenter, 2 (TWO) co-presenters or panels of up to 4 (FOUR) members, or they may take a more novel approach to learning, such as a debate, role-play, simulation, or game. Proposals should exemplify state-of-the-art knowledge, practice, research or skills in one of the focus areas for this year’s programme.

We will do our best to create the speaking schedule in a way that allows for your specific seating layout request. Please note that sometimes this may not be possible due to time constraints in changing the room. We will endeavour to give you the layout closest to what you request.
