EAPA-SA acknowledges the campaign Forever Changed is embarking on. Addi Lang is creating awareness about cancer and the breakthrough treaments that are not available to patients within the regular treatment options. Addi is also trying to lobby politicians and stakeholders in the market and South African workplace on developing a cancer policy that can support their employees who have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as assist employers on how to manage this within their workspace. This campaign will assist EAP professionals in educating employees and their employers on addressing the cancer pandemic plaguing our country.
Cancer affect all of us in one way or the other. It may not be you, but I am sure there is a friend or family member that has been diagnosed. I salute Addi for the work that she is doing and urge more of us to get involved to ensure we are protected through legislation.
