On 29 April 2025, the EAPA Western Cape Chapter proudly hosted its first face-to- face engagement for members and stakeholders, a significant and energising moment that brought our community together to reconnect, share knowledge, and foster collaboration in the employee assistance and integrated holistic wellness space.

Held at a venue generously sponsored by Absa, the event marked the first in-person session of the year, offering members and stakeholders an opportunity to re-engage after a prolonged period of virtual interactions. Chapter Chairperson Ms Rozelda Elliott opened the programme with a warm welcome and important updates, setting the stage for a meaningful day.

The session featured a strong line-up of expert speakers who addressed key focus areas. Mr Ntate Mosadi, EAPA-SA Board Member for Governance, delivered an insightful presentation on Governance & Ethics, reinforcing the foundational principles of integrity and ethical practice in EAP.

Absa’s representatives, Ms Sharon Konig and Ameera Holmes, provided a practical engaging talk on Financial Empowerment, sparking thoughtful discussion and equipping attendees with tools for financial wellbeing. Monique Ford from Virgin Active followed with a lively Physical Wellness session, guiding participants through stretching and breathing exercises that revitalised the room.

Although a technical issue impacted on the original presentation format, Mr Henning Jacobs of Discovery Healthy Company adapted swiftly and delivered an inspiring practical couching talk on Vision Boards, encouraging personal reflection and future goal setting.

We also express sincere appreciation to Mr Savarion Arendse from Old Mutual, who stepped in as Programme Director at short notice. His professionalism, effective communication, and leadership ensured the day ran smoothly and successfully.

This first face-to-face session of the year was a valuable opportunity for members and stakeholders to reconnect, exchange insights, and recommit advancing wellness and employee support services. The EAPA Western Cape Chapter extends heartfelt thanks to all who attended and contributed to the day’s success.

We look forward to welcoming even more of our members and partners at our next face-to-face session on 11 June 2025. Full details will be shared soon—watch this space!
