Mrs. Lucricia Kgakanego Nkambule obtained her BA (Hons) Social Work at University of Venda. In my work experience I have managed to upgrade my skills and advanced in the field of HIV/AIDS and acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in HIV and AIDS management at University of Stellenbosch. Mrs. Lucricia Kgakanego Nkambule recently obtained a Master degree in Clinical Social Work at University of Johannesburg.

Apart from the formal education Mrs. Nkambule also managed to acquire knowledge and skills on the following: social work assessment and intervention strategies from micro, mezzo and macro level, social work and economic literacy, Employee Assistance Programme, Wellness management programme and management of substance abuse in the workplace. Occupational Health and Safety etc.

Working with women and families has always been her passion and interest and she further capacitated and advance her skills on Feminist-Psychodynamic model, to help to gain power, control and strength in dealing with their intense emotional experience that places a huge impact in women and their families.

Mrs Lucricia Kgakanego Nkambule has 17 years of experiences in the helping profession . She started working in 2002 as a Generic Social Worker at Christilike Maatskaaplike Raad where she was also exposed to employee Assistance Programme for employee working in Hendrina Eskom Power Station and the nearby mines. In 2004 she joined the Department of Social Services and Health  focusing Child and Family Welfare. In 2006 she joined the Department of Education  working as an EAP officer until 2009. She is currently employed by the Department of Human Settlements providing the integrated Employee Health and Wellness as an Assistant Manager .

In her spare time she operates as an independent  clinical social worker in her  private  practice  registered as Light Resilient Clinic Pty Ltd  which started in 2014.

  1. Growing the chapter to becoming a formidable force in the EAP space in the region –  priority goal is therefore the recruitment of additional members and proving CPD accredited events . We are targeting other district in the province where mines are located .

International Social Worker Day

EAPA-SA was invited by Nehawu Mpumalanga to partake in the celebration of the International Social Worker Day in Mbombela under the Theme “Shared Vision for Transformative Change” on the 19th of March 2024.
The event was to Celebrate the Social Work Profession and acknowledge the challenges as well as the strides that Social Workers have made to better the lives of individuals, families, organisations, workplaces and communities .
The commemoration event was graced by the MEC of Social Development, the South African Council for Social Service Professions, Mental Health Awareness SA Foundation Mrs Conny Ntshane-Legong. EAPA-SA Mpumalanga Chapter Chairperson provided a message of encouragement and support to the Social Workers, emphasising the Role of EAP in their sectors, how they should normalise seeking counselling to help themselves become resilient while serving the people as well as the importance of self care. The Chapter Chairperson also took an opportunity to market the association and encouraged affiliation by sharing some infoation on membership benefits such as, networking opportunities and professional growth and development
The platform helped the chapter in achieving one of the key objectives, which is to grow chapter membership through collaborative work with key stakeholders such as Dept of Social Development and the Labour Movement .
