Ms. Marata Komana has a great passion for education and development. She is a qualified Social Worker, holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management, a Diploma in Project Management and a Diploma in Labour Relations. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management with her focus being Public Governance and Ethics. Ms. Komana is currently Employed at the Polokwane Municipality as an Assistant Manager: Employee Assistance Programme, wherein her primary focus is managing the implementation of the Employee Wellness Services within the Municipality. She brings with 16 years of experience in working within the health profession, in particular, more into the Employee Wellness Fraternity.

Ms. Komana is humble, service orientated and passionate social activist who believes in cultivating a culture of growth and development across all spheres of her life. She has good networking skills that cut across corporate and social relations that will move the chapter forward. Over the years she has served in various committees related to Employee Wellness both in the public and private sector. She has also been Executive Committee member for the Limpopo Chapter since 2014, where she was elected as an additional member. She has served diligently with the committee by ensuring the membership numbers within the Limpopo Province Chapter increases, both for personal membership and service providers. She has participated in a number of seminars and programmes that were intended to move the chapter forward.

As a Limpopo Chairperson. Ms. Komana will diligently serve with the elected committee for the terms of office towards achieving the strategic goals set. She will continue together with her team to strive towards forging relations with Corporates, Municipalities, Institutions of Higher Learning within the Province for skills development and mentoring of students and Graduates related to Employee Wellness Professions. We will work continuously to harness the social intergovernmental relations that the previous committee has managed to build with sponsors and other key stakeholders such as Office of the Premier Limpopo, SALGA and other Institutions.

Past Events

31st March 2025 Financial Management Workshop
The Limpopo Chapter, in partnership with the Limpopo Office of the Premier and Grounded Media, hosted a Financial Management workshop for Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practitioners from various provincial departments on 31st March 2025. The workshop was designed to provide participants with essential financial management skills.
 
17th July Developmental Session
The EAPA-SA Limpopo Chapter held a Developmental seminar on the 17 July 2024 in Polokwane. The seminar focused on the on:
* Physical revitalisation
* Bereavement (Trauma and Triggers)
* ⁠⁠Wills and Estate planning
* ⁠Health Screening
The seminar was conducted in partnership with GEMS, Tsheko Wellness and Sanlam.
The chapter also used the time to officially award appointment letters to the 2024-2026 Chapter Executive Committee

11th July Stakeholder Engagement Session
On the 11th of July 2024, EAPA-SA Limpopo Chapter participated in a stakeholder engagement session facilitated by Sanlam (Limpopo and National office) to discuss our annual plans and repositioning of our relations with Sanlam as key stakeholder. What was interesting was the engagements were held on the golf course and we played football golf, and in between the holes that’s where the future plans and discussions were held.

Executive Committee Meeting April 2024
On the 12th April 2024, Limpopo Chapter held an executive committee meeting aimed at outlining  portfolio responsibilities and the finalisation of the annual plan.
