Job Purpose:
This position is a Specialist position where the incumbent will be required:
Implement and evaluate the Wellness Programme which:
-
is work-site based.
-
is designed to assist in the identification and resolution of productivity problems associated with employees impaired by personal concerns, but not limited to health, marital, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress, or other personal concerns which adversely affect employee job performance.
Duties:
The incumbent will therefore be required to provide holistic Wellness Action Plan for SARS through:

Operationalising the Wellness Strategy.
-
Input into the development of a Wellness Policy
-
Influence policy initiatives which impact on the health and socio-economic issues
-
Training and development of Wellness Champions within Business Units & different regions.
-
Identify programmes of collaboration with other HR departments and Business Units
-
Supporting employees and managers in the management of their work-life stressors, behavioural health and physical health risks arising out of the transformation processes taking place within the organisation.
-
Provide a climate of voluntary and confidential access to services.
-
Provide ongoing HIV and AIDS awareness, prevention and education.
-
Provide access to telephonic and face to face counselling.
-
Liaise with external Service Provider for those persons who may require referral e.g. psychological, financial and legal advice services
-
Case management
-
Trauma management
Knowledge & Skills:
-
Knowledge and understanding of general business issues and Wellness global standards.
-
Sound knowledge of the South African labour (and related) legislation
-
Understanding of the socio-economic climate
-
Above average computer literacy (Microsoft products)
-
Ability to implement holistic HIV & AIDS and Wellness programmes
-
Understanding of the impact of HIV/AIDS in business and in the socio-economic arena
-
Relationship Management
-
Strong Project Management Skills
-
Counselling Skills with 3 or more years experience
-
Knowledge and understanding of Health related ailments that impede workplace performance
-
Empathetic with ability to maintain confidentiality
Education & Experience:
-
Relevant Bachelors’ degree in behavioural sciences preferably with medical/health background.
-
Qualification in Primary Health Care with 3 or more years experience or any equivalent
